The Vice Presidential Debate: Round 1

I named this article Round 1. But after watching this debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, is there a need for another round? Joe Biden proved he was ready for this debate. Even though all of the laughing and interrupting made him appear unprofessional, he effectively knocked Paul Ryan off his pedestal. Ryan may have contributed to that task by continually drinking water? What was he really drinking? I could have sworn I saw a piece of lime on the glass when the debate started. Who sips water anyway? And with all of the security concerns, seems like he would have been given a bottled water, if that's what he was drinking. And what was that thing with Ryan's neck? The debate was so fiery, that Paul Ryan was working his neck like a black woman yelling at her man. The moderator demanded that Paul Ryan give specifics to his answers, but he refuse and continued with his double talk on every issue.  Some of the questions/issues for the debate are below. It has been stated that this moderator is really good friends with Barack Obama, and their was fear that she would not be as fair. Their fears came true, as she continually would cut off Paul Ryan during his answer to a question, so that Joe Biden could ramble on. He already had his turn on the question, why not let the other guy give his answer too?

Libya Massive Intelligence Failure:

Biden: He adamantly promised to find the people who killed Stevens. The attack was pre-planned and that protesters were absent. He then starts to talk about the differences between Obama and Romney. Not sure what that had to do with the Libya question, but that's Joe Biden. Biden also claims that Obama has repaired our alliances worldwide. The Obama administration was first told about the Libyan attack by the intelligence community, and that the investigation continues. Biden claimed they did not know the ambassador wanted more security. (Let me interject and say that that was a DUH moment. Who in their right mind would willingly travel to the the Middle East and not want as much security as possible?)

Ryan: He said that Obama was slow to act on the terrorist attack in Libya. Also claims that the Obama administration is  passing the buck as to why there was not more security. He disclosed that Biden failed to get an agreement for more security. So, is it as Biden said they did not know the ambassador wanted more security, or is it they were not able to get more security? What about just giving the ambassador more security regardless? Maybe he would still be alive today. Ryan does, however, agree with the 2014 draw down in Afghanistan. Ryan stated that everyone should always stand for peace, democracy, and rights. Biden interrupted Ryan and called his response a bunch of malarchy. Ryan did question why a marine detail was not given to the ambassador. Biden did not answer.

Should the United States Apologize for Anti Muslim Actions?

Ryan: Yes, we should apologize. But we should not apologize for standing up for our values. (Is pissing on people or damaging another persons religious item an American value? I hope not.)

How effective would a military strike be on Iran?

Ryan: We cannot allow Iran to continue on their path. The Obama administration have fought to have sanctions, but do not view the military option as credible. He also stated that Obama is not taking the Iranian threat seriously. Ryan states that he and Romney want to prevent war and do everything peacefully. He also claims that Iran is more isolated now than before Obama took office. A nuclear armed Iran is worse than another middle eastern war. It is very possible that Iran can start an arms race in middle east.

Biden: (Biden had a very confused look on  his face as Ryan answered this question. I don't know if it was because Ryan was drunk or because of Ryan's opinion of how the Obama administration is handling the Iran threat.) Biden retorts that our allies would not agree to sanctioning Iran. The reason being is because Iran is a long way from getting  nuclear weapons. Going to war with Iran is the last resort. The Obama administration heavily relies on the intelligence community to disclose when Iran receives nuclear weapons. He claims facts matter more than the hypothesis' coming from the Romney campaign. But then he says that if we took action against Iran, the world would be behind the United States.

Jobs are below 8%, but Obama predicted less than 6%. Can you get unemployment to under 6% and how long will it take?

Biden: Promised that the Obama administration will get unemployment under 6%, but doesn't know how long it will take. He stated how the middle class rescued General Motors, Wall Street, banks, etc. and began to recite all types of figures to prove that what they are doing is working. Bailing out the auto industry saved over 1 million jobs, whereas Romney wanted to allow them to go bankrupt. He also stated how the Republicans are holding middle class tax cuts hostage unless the rich get a tax cut too.  Biden wishes that the Republicans would get out of the way so that the Obama administration can implement tax reform. Then Biden starts to rant about how Ryan asked the Obama administration for stimulus for the state of Wisconsin. (Why wouldn't Ryan ask for stimulus money for the state he represents? Another DUH moment. I'm not sure what Biden was trying to prove by bringing up this subject.)

Ryan: He agrees that Obama inherited a bad situation, but is now going in the wrong direction. He begins to throw out figures too. He stated that we need real reforms and real recovery. The Romney campaign has a five-point plan that will get America back on it's feet, but recited it so fast, I'm not sure anyone picked up on it. Hopefully someone will ask the Romney campaign to go into further explanation of this five-point plan. Ryan also claims that Romney cares about every body no matter their economic state. When Obama became the president, he had total control of Congress because the House and the Senate were majority democratic. They passed what they wanted without taking into consideration of Republican opinion. The Moderator asked Ryan how to get jobs below 6%, but like Romney in the Presidential Debate, he glossed over the answer without giving one. (So basically neither side will get unemployment below 6%).

Will Medicare and Medicaid have to Change in Order to Survive?

Ryan: Medicare and Social Security must be reformed. Ryan states that Obamacare is spending a dollar twice by taking money from Medicare to spend on Obamacare. Ryan also disclosed that Obama has appointed a board to cut medicare, but this board does not have any medical training. (That's like hiring a felon to be a police officer. They know a little about the law, but don't care to uphold it.) The Romney campaign wants to give guaranteed options to everyone. The poor will receive 100% coverage, the middle class will be eligible for most coverage, and the rich will have little to no coverage. Senior citizens will continue to lose benefits if Medicare/Medicaid is not reformed.  Younger people, those under 54 right now, will be able to choose coverage. (I like this.) Ryan also stated that Obama is using scare tactics to get people to vote for him.

Biden: States that the Obama administration refuses to privatize Social Security or reform Medicare/Medicaid because it is better off than 4 years ago. (It is?) Another reason that they refuse to privatize Social Security is because had they done so 4 years ago, a lot of people would be totally bankrupt because of the stock market crash. (True. But you would have to be dumb to put all your eggs in one basket.) Also, states that the guaranteed benefits are nothing but vouchers, and the Obama administration will never be part of a voucher system.

Who will pay more in taxes and less?
Biden: States that the middle class will pay less taxes, but those making over a million dollars will pay more. Claims Romney is holding the middle class tax cut hostage unless the rich are given a tax cut as well. The middle class need help, but Romney will not cut loopholes.

Ryan: The Romney campaign will create seven million jobs. Creating or giving tax cuts will not fix the deficit. Excessive spending by Obama is causing high taxes. Stated that we need tax reform by lowering taxes and not raising the deficit. (I agree with the moderator on demanding that he answer the question. The answer he gave had nothing to do with the question.)

2000 soldiers have died in Afghanistan so far. Why not end the war now?

Ryan: States that we do not want to the lose gains we gave made. Skeptical about negotiating with the Taliban, but does not want them to return. The Romney campaign does not want to stay in Afghanistan and wants to ensure the 2014 draw down is successful. Also stated that Obama's foreign policy is unraveling.

Biden: States we went there to get Al-Qaeda. We are training the Afghan military because it's their responsibility to secure themselves. He was very adamant that the draw down is definite in 2014, and that 49 of our allies agree with the 2014 draw down. However, he did not respond to the question as why surge troops were pulled out during heavy fighting.

Abortion/Religion

Ryan: Stated that he is a Catholic, and that private life and public life cannot be separated from a person's faith. He is  abortion unless in the case of rape, incest, or the life of the mother. He believes life begins at conception because he saw the heartbeat of his first born child at seven weeks in the womb. He also stated that Obama is against freedom of religion.

Biden: He is also a practicing Catholic. He accepts the church's position on abortion, and that life begins at conception. However, he refuses to impose his beliefs on other people, and does not believe that anyone has the right to tell a woman what she can do with her body. The Catholic organization do not have to refer contraception. Also, stated that the next President will have two Supreme court judges. He promises that the Obama administration will pick people with open minds.

If you are elected what would you do with this country?

Ryan: He simply stated that we need people to do what they say they are going to do, and offer solutions to fix problems.

Biden: Stated that his record stands for itself. He does what he says. Wants to level the field for the middle class, because they grow the economy.

Closing Statements:

Biden: Admits that they inherited bad circumstances, but they are acting to bring relief. The middle class is looking for a shot and wants some piece of mind. He wants to level the playing field. However Joe Biden was not looking at the camera, and did not ask for America to vote for him and Obama.

Ryan:  He looks directly at the camera, and asks what kind of country do we want. States how we deserve better and how the Romney campaign are offering reforms for every American, not just some. Economy is stagnant because Obama's policies are not working. Promises a dynamic growing economy that creates jobs. He directly asks for our vote.

Smart With Your Money?

Bankruptcy is something I hope I never have to endure. The embarrassment. The feeling of worthlessness, or becoming depressed. Wondering how you will ever get back on your feet. I feel for the common person, especially under this economy, who has to sell their car, home, other possessions of value, and maybe even their beloved pet(s). And what about the children of these people? Being uprooted from the familiar to the unfamiliar. Changing schools in the middle of the year. Being the new kid is no fun. Unfortunately, that is the plight of the working poor.

BUT, for the rich I have absolutely no sympathy. If you are an athlete, musician, actor, or some other person making millions of dollars hand over fist, then there is absolutely no reason why you should ever become bankrupt. If you are smart, that is. Now granted when people start making good money, family and friends come out of the woodwork. They give these sob stories about their struggles and how they meant to keep in touch. They pull and tug on your heart strings to no end. But if you are smart, then you would know that you can't help everyone. You have to learn to say the word 'No'. Next, you have to learn to stop listening and hang up the phone. And when the phone rings right away after hanging up, then you have to learn to let the call(s) go to voicemail. Eventually, these leeches will stop bothering you.

Let's talk about the rich dummies. These are the people who flaunt it because they got it. You've seen them, or at least heard about them. They walk around with a glacier on their fingers, or they walk like Fred Sanford because the bling around their neck weighs 100 pounds. These people have an entourage larger than the President of the United States. These people pay all of their entourages expenses, or even have them on their payroll. These people live alone in 6 or 7 bedroom mansions each with their own full bathroom. When I say alone, I mean they have no spouse, children, nor pets. They have a TV in every single room including the shower. They have over 200 pairs of Nike tennis shoes, but only have two feet. They collect luxury cars, but can only drive one at a time. And depending on the state they live in, those cars may be required to have insurance if there is a plate on the car. They have a clothing and jewelry boutique in their closet.

So after spending all their money, what happens when the money runs out? Usually, the people run out. Those family and friends that they felt sorry for go back into the woodwork. The IRS and other creditors come a knocking. Next thing they know, they are at the mercy of a judge hoping to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy in hopes of keeping their possessions. And, I guess they suffer the embarrassment of having the media publish their private business.

I not downing the rich because they have nice things. I envy the rich. I'm just pointing out how some are dumb with their money. There is nothing wrong with sharing from time to time. Just, don't tell anyone what you have. Instead of buying a mega house, buy some land. And then build the mega house on the land. If you don't know where to start on how to buy land, landwatch.com is a great site. Instead of buying 200 pairs of Nike tennis shoes, buy 2 pair and take the remaining money for the other 198 and invest in Nike. Instead of buying a ring that is bigger than your hand, buy a couple of smaller custom made rings. Then invest the remaining money into one of the diamond mines located in Canada. And if you are new to investing, sharebuilder.com is a good way to start. Be smart with your money.

The Presidential Debate: Round 1

Boy oh boy oh boy! Where in the world did Mitt Romney think he was, or who did he think he was debating? Dude, are you serious? Barack. Hussein. Obama. Barack Obama is one of the most eloquent and charismatic speakers of the century. Not only that, Barack Obama thinks very quickly on his feet. So that rehearsed stuff Romney was doing is definitely not going to cut it. Romney sounded like a broken record. And disrepecting the moderator by talking over him was not a good look.

Now what was shocking was Obama sucking up to the moderator. And that rehearsed smile. You could tell Obama was in the mirror earlier telling himself to 'Say cheese'. Obama was cool as a cucumber the entire debate. He didn't capitalize on all the double talk Romney was doing. You could tell Obama noticed it, but he took the smart road and decided not to mention it. Yes, Obama let Romney off easy. But I guarantee you, the next Presidential Debate, Obama is going to LIGHT him up. We've seen him do it before. Trust me the fire in his eyes was very apparent tonight. So, Mitt Romney better step up his A-game, if he has one.

As for Mitt Romney, he would have done well to pretend that everyone there was in they draws. He needed to rehearse relaxing or do some deep breathing exercises. Think about the porno he watched the night before. Surely he watches it, have you seen his wife? Did she look like one of the Stepford Wives or what? It was REAL obvious that he was nervous. But what I really was wondering is why he kept laughing during Obama's rebuttals. Maybe he didn't realize that the camera was on him as well, and that the stations were doing a split screen. Dumb move. If he is serious about this election as he claimed, then he would have had a more professional demeanor. Now the next thing Romney needs to do is work on his speech impediment. Why he hasn't done so earlier with all that money he has is a mystery. If he were elected as president, he couldn't go to other countries to speak. I can see it now, the President of Iran and other middle eastern countries making fun of President Fudd.  As in Elmer. Talking slowly and precisely will help the stuttering problem, according to others who have this problem. Next, he needs to learn to listen and allow someone to finish their statement or question, instead of constantly talking over that person. The debates not only allow us to see what or how a candidates' policy will affect us, but also shows what type of leader they will be.

Romney wants to close loopholes but has not said how he will do it or which ones he wants to close. He kept reverting back to his rehearsed speech about taxes. And, he did not share his proposals on how he will ensure that Social Security and Medicare will be there for younger people.

Here are some of the questions from the debate and how they answered.

What are your major differences in creating jobs?

OBAMA:
Wants to improve the education system. Wants to hire 100000 new math and science teachers. Create 2 million job slots so that people can go back to work. Keep college tuition low. Lower the corporate tax rate. Close loopholes for companies outsourcing jobs overseas. Boost energy production. Study wind, solar, and biofuels. Believes the country is doing good when middle class is doing well because the economy works best when the middle class has money in their pocket.

ROMNEY:
Repeatedly said there will not be a 5 trillion tax cut. Wants to provide tax relief to middle class, but keep taxes low for the rich. Believes that energy is critical. Promises to bring in pipeline from Canada. Loves coal, and wants us to be independent of oil. Education is key to the future of the economy. Will not reduce share of taxes by rich. Also stated that he will not, by any reason, raise tax on middle class, but will lower them. But then stated that to balance the budget, we must pay more taxes.

What are your differences in tackling the deficit?

ROMNEY:
Feels it's immoral for the next generation to pay for our debt. He plans to fix the debt by raising taxes, cut spending and grow the economy. Cut spending by eliminating programs that are not critical. Cut back on employees through attrition.

OBAMA:
Stated that when he first got into office he had to deal with 1 trillion dollar debt, 2 wars charged on credit cards, and 2 tax cuts that were not paid for. Since then he has cut 77 government programs, 18 education programs education. Saved 50 billion dollars of waste from medicare/medicaid fraud. Wants the rich to contribute more to help reduce the deficit.

Social Security

OBAMA:
States that Social Security is structurally sound but needs to be tweaked. The value of Social Security allows independence for the elderly. The government has stopped overpaying insurace companies, which allows costs to be reduced. Encourages peventive care.

ROMNEY:  Social Security nor Medicare will change for the younger generation. Doctors and nursing homes are refusing medicare patients due to Obamas cuts. Promises that Social Security amd medicare is there for younger .

And just so you know. I do not like Barack Obama. I never have. He is one of the biggest charlatans of all time. He changed us for the worse. I am not better off from 4 years ago. His constant nightly parties at the White House, and the multiple family vacations out of the country, while everyone else is struggling to keep a roof over their head and food on the table is outrageous! However, when  you look at the other option, we just as well keep  him in there because, right now, the other option is not an option.

Monday blah's

EW! Monday is here, again. sigh. If only every day can be a Sunday. But if that were to happen then I guess the entire world would be in a depression. No one working, except athletes of course. lol. No mail delivered. No trashed picked up. Everthing just stopped.

Speaking of mail delivery, why can't the mail service revert to 5 days a week? I work for the post office, yet I'm wondering does anyone really use the post office anymore? With all this technology (i.e. smart phones, card readers attached to smart phones, depositing a check via phone, etc.), and how you can buy stamps with your groceries nowadays, what's the point of 6-day delivery? The banks are closed on Saturdays, so people can't cash their welfare or child support checks. The latter really irritate me. Chasing me down because I didn't deliver a check they depend on. And then getting mad because they believe I'm holding it back. Trust me, if I could hold back the welfare check of some one who has two functional arms and legs, I would. I'm tired of having to pay for these people. I'm tired of these people receiving free money from me! I work and struggle everyday, even more so with this ass-backwards Obama economy. And they have the nerve to come outside in their pajamas expecting, no demanding, a check. The same for the ho's that substitute child support, or welfare, for a career, or job at least. Really lady? Do you think I care that you have $6.13 in your bank account? Close your legs, wash your ass, and go get a job. Go to school. Learn a trade or something. Stop making unproductive citizens. Children imitate their parents. And if they see you laying on your ass all day and still getting money, what you think they are going to do?

Speaking of Obama. Well, I don't have enough time for that fool. But come back here on Thursday.

Speaking of unproductive citizens, this country has got it all wrong. I'm tired of paying for them too. If a person is serving a life sentence because he murdered someone, why can't he be executed right away? What is it with all these appeals and the years and years it takes to make a final judgement? You got him on videotaped killing this person, and yet he sits in jail for decades getting free housing, free food, free medical care, and free college. Now that's an injustice. There are children out here who want to be productive citizens but can't go to college because of finances. Some of them end up becoming unproductive citizens. How about we give these kids free college educations, and execute anyone who does not want to get with the program?

All right. I am out of time. I must go and deliver your mail today. Will you get your check today? It's October 1st. Don't chase me down, because today is also Monday and I'm not in the mood. Do yourself a favor and stay in your house until the  postal truck leaves your box, because your carrier might just be me.

New to this

I guess I'm really becoming computer illiterate. What is this blog thing about? I have heard of blogs for years, but never really paid any attention to it. Then, today, I saw that people make money off it. Say what? They are making money, but all they have to do is type on the computer? Genius!

Hopefully, if you read my blogs, you will be joyfully entertained. I must warn you, my point of view differs greatly from the general public. I have a wicked sense of humor. And, I do not sympathize often. So off I go, joining the world of Blogging.
